September 2023 Beauty Executive Moves

L’Oréal Groupe made a flurry of high-level executive announcements due to take place in Q1 2024, Sephora had another significant leadership shift, and emerging brands continue to make leadership appointments. Ulta Beauty announced that Kecia L. Steelman, Chief Operating Officer, has been named President and Chief Operating Officer. Steelman was named Chief Operating Officer in June 2021 after serving as Chief Store Operations Officer since September 2015. She joined Ulta Beauty as Senior Vice President, Store Operations in July 2014. Prior to joining Ulta Beauty, Steelman was Group Vice President at Family Dollar Stores from 2011 to 2014, after joining the company in 2009 as Vice President, Store Development and Store Operations.Sephora names Artemis Patrick the next CEO of its North America region. Patrick will become President of Sephora North America on October 2, reporting to Jean-André Rougeot during the transition period. When Rougeot retires, Patrick will report to CEO Guillaume Motte. Patrick was most recently Global Chief Merchandising Officer.Sephora has named Senior Vice President of Global Merchandising Priya Venkatesh as its new Global Chief Merchandising Officer. As a member of the senior leadership team, Venkatesh will report to CEO Guillaume Motte.Fabrice Megarbane will be appointed Chief Global Growth Officer at L’Oréal Groupe, succeeding Frédéric Roze, who has announced his intention to retire at the beginning of next year, after 38 years with the Groupe. An engineer by training, Fabrice joined the Groupe back in 2000.
